Looking at individual pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, it is nearly impossible to tell what they represent.
To do that, you must fit them into the whole puzzle.
A truther trying to explain 9-11 is a lot like trying to explain one piece of a jigsaw puzzle. The listener may respond, “But that doesn’t make any sense. Why would our own government do something like that? After all, we voted them into office.” The truther must then explain how major Presidential candidates are not only pre-selected from behind the scenes, but, once in office, controlled through a powerful “shadow government.”
The listener may then say, “If that’s true, why don’t they tell us about it on the news?” The conversation now shifts to media control — and as it jumps from one tangent to another, becomes disorganized, low in credibility, and frustrating for both parties.

Understanding the jigsaw pieces requires having the whole puzzle to look at. Then each piece makes sense.
